Jennifer Gorelik

Introduction:

My name is Jennifer Gorelik and I am a student in the Masters of Arts in Teaching at Towson University. I received my Bachelor of Arts from Towson in political science. I am currently studying the application of technology to education in my ISTC 301 class and I would like to give a sample of some of the work I have done in class to show how technology can be used in a school setting.

Integrating Technology:

I believe that technology is a very powerful tool in education. Through new technologies and the internet we can give students many more resources to learn from, in formats that they can enjoy. The collaborative nature of many new technologies ensures that information is current and accurate and interesting. In the past, a school might have used a video for decades with erroneous information; however, today, if that video was on line, I would be quickly criticised and discarded with people finding much better alternatives to it. Technology provides many opportunities for students to study in various ways, to access information in a way that appeals to their learning preferences and prepares them for careers where the knowledge of such technology will be expected. I look forward to using technology in my future teaching.
